Hello! I was wondering if there is a technique used to properly tie the leach line on the jib. The sail has two holes below the line exit point.Anything special with regards to this? Also on the main I can't get a straight anwser about the plastic parts (sort of look like hooks)above each of the reef holes on the leach of the sail. What would you use them for? Can't imagine they would have any connection to a reef system because of their location. Thanks for any input!!! Happy Sailing! Hull #619
There should be a little plastic or delryn clam cleat attached to your jib. The leech line should be secured to that cleat. Reading between the lines of your message, I suspect that the cleat is missing from your sail, and that the two holes below the line exit point might be where the cleat was attached. If your cleat is missing, they are not expensive, and, if you are handy, you can probably sew a new one on yourself(although, if you have a local sailmaker, (s)he would not charge much to do it for you). Examine one on someone else's sail to see how it is attached. If you don't have sailmaker's thread, you can use dental floss (flavored or unflavored).
I don't know what the plastic hook-like things are above the reefing grommets on the leech of your sail.
If I have mis-interpreted your question, either a photo or a more detailed explanation would help us understand your question.
