I have an 83 swing keel. Getting ready to re-bed deck fixtures. Found a small leak between two bolts on the jib track, on the inside. It looks like the bolts run the whole lengthe of the track-about 2" apart- and appear very hard to get to. My thought is to go after the two I can see leaking. I was going to put tape under hole on inside, fill with epoxy-from the outside- and re-drill. You guys talk about re-bedding the track like it was a walk in the park. How do you get access?

Although I've yet to touch my genoa track, someone on the forum once posted that they simply pulled out a few screws in a suspected leaking area of the genoa track, shot some caulk down the hole, then replaced the screw.

Don't know if that would work, but its a whole lot easier than pulling the entire track.

Don't know if I was the one who said it, but I did it a few years ago with (gasp) silicone--figuring that would flow better than caulk to seal around the screws. It seems to have worked, but was a messy process. To get to the nuts, I removed a teak trim strip at the top of the inner hull liner. It was definitely a two-man job--hard to be in both places at once.

On the port side on my '81, there are 3 or 4 nuts that are impossible to reach. Between the bulkhead in the port "warehouse" and the cabin there seems to be a metal frame with only a 1" gap.
