Hi All, I baught my boat for a guy who had it for two years and is not gone, and he baught it from a guy who only had it for one year, the guy he baught it from was the origanal 1977 owner. Catalina can not find the records for this boat. How can I find the origanal owner? Cheers.
Dennis, you can have the State Bureau of Motor Vehicles trace the chain of ownership of an automobile, and I expect you can also have them do the same for your boat. Go to the office where you registered your certificate of title for the boat, and, for a reasonable fee, they'll probably do it for you.
Good idea Steve. I'll do that monday. I am trying to figure out if the swing keel bolt had been replaced or if it is the original. The keel is in suck rough shape that if I drop it to replace the bolt, I will have to grind it down 1/8 inch just to get it smooth and I don't have time for that this year. Cheers.
