Sorry BOG and other Members of the Catalina group. Here i am reading the morning post when I read the Membership thread. I thank you for leaving it up so that I could read what was going on, But was really ready to post somthing by the time I got to the end of the posts....

I myself am not a member of the Association, I don't know whynot? I do think that its the cheapest group around. I am a member of the CSSA, and I get nothing in return for my 15 bucks, I am a member of US Sailing, and got a keychain and a rule book for 55 bucks.

I am posting this because I do feel that the whole situation was handled wrong, First it should have been handled thru email, and second it should have been deleted off of the forum if you are going to lock it.

Back when the LOGO contest was going on I was offered a t-shirt for what I was doing for the club coming up with different designs every other day. I didn't get a shirt, nor do I want one. I had a great time doing somthing for the group, If there is a thread about Fiberglass repair, painting, racing, ect I stop what I am doing and type a reply to the forum about what I do know.

I myself have emailed, and posted replies about the Capri 25 to the association to get the boat back into a membership. I don't know if there is anyone from WYC reading post and giving out information about the boat, WYC is a huge resorce for the Association, I have emailed them, and have never gotten a reply back. This really bothers me..........anyway.

This Accociation has open arms for all sailors, The BOG is more than happy to help out, I know this because of them taking the Capri 25 and adding the boat to there Membership. I cant even think of the hours spent doing this, amending the bi-laws, website, letterheads, Everything was changed for US (Capri 25)

I am getting my check book out right now and mailing you my 20 bucks.

WYC is a source of frustration for me as well, I have spent over a year making overtures to them via email and postings on their own board. I have never recieve any reply of any kind. I wish they would remember what the true Corinthian Sailor is all about. Even if we cannot help them, they could help others through us, and I wish they would.

Is there any way of getting the board to try and contact the fleet captain at WYC? It would be again a huge asset to the membership to get these people involved with the Association. I have heard that they are a really close group, and usually keep the race talk on the docks. I used to love reading there forum, there was a ton of information about the Capri 25. It is now gone, the Nationals Site is now gone, and the Capri WYC website gets updated about every three months. I think that the Capri 25 Nationals is in June-But who would know, I am never emailed anything about it?

BTW I would rather come and sail in the Catalina 25/250 Capri 25 Nationals. Yea baby that sounds really good........You all have a great day, If no one has told you, I will

Do what you can to get other Capri 25 owners here. We spent thousands of your $ to make this site and all of our literature/membership Capri friendly. Meanwhile if anyone has a contact at WYC I can write to them.

Capri 25 and Catalina 25 have so much in common - as I wrote in my recent Mainsheet column.

We're not taking over the yachting world. Just helping some sailors who belong in the Catalina family.

It truly baffles me as to why more Capri owners don't use this site. I wish I knew more to tell, but I've already told all the ones I know.

I agree and I didn't feel comfortable deleting a post with someone elses account, I did the next best thing.

Thank you very much for your entries. The shirts went to the winners of the contest.

Also -I think the Capri guys are motivated a bit differently, they are a one-design racing boat. I've talked mentioned some things to the officers regarding what we might need to do. Hopefully we kind find the right combination to get more of them involved here.

Does BOG = Board of Governors? if so we are just elected officers. Leave the governors to groups that actually have physical plant and capital..... If not, what does it stand for?

On one hand,I'm a little disapointed that the thread was locked because it would have been fun to hear some more comments, no doubt that more passion would have surfaced - we not only love our C25s - we treasure this site and have a great deal of respect for the Officers and Staff.
On the other hand, the right thing was done and a member can rejoin the fray with dignity.
I happily sent in my membership cheque($26 USD which is about $34 Canadian). The value I've recieved from this site is incalculable.
This really is the best membership site there is, and it is what it is, because of the quality of the people involved.

Its a long drive, but I'd love to have a canadian boat or two at the nationals - those from ontario are a touch closer - Any chance of you bringing her down here to Cleveland for the event? The exchange rate is probably the best its been in a while -

I'm waiting for Nationals to be a little closer.
If Nationals are ever held in CA or WA, I'm in.

When I do come out to Nationals, you'll recognize me without an introduction - I'll be the guy with the extra large fenders hanging over the side at all times and a crew armed with boat hooks. My sailing skills are kind of like my hockey skills. Lots of bumping into things.
I am however, considering attending Nationals with the intention of looking at lots of boats and volunteering as rail meat.
I promise to drink lots of beer if my 180LBs is not quite sufficient.
