Does anyone have an opinion on Sailcare's LaMauney Process for cleaning and reconditioning? Im interested in having a North Sail 135 Furling Jib repaired. Barry
First, I have no direct experience with Sailcare, but others on the forum have, with mostly positive results.
What is the age and condition of your genoa?...From what I gather, Sailcare's repair process will make a good sail look great, but won't do much for a sail that is past its prime (blown) other than pretty it up.
I have sent both of my jibs to them and am pleased with the results. My racing main is there now, so I guess I'm a fan. Be prepared for two things: 1) you will probably need some repairs on top of the cleaning. I know I did, and they found a couple of things that I overlooked. 2) They are pretty backed up right now, as this is the off season for sailing in much of the US. My jibs took about 2 1/2 months and they told me to expect about that for the Main. I'm pretty pleased with the results though. They explained going in that there might be a couple of stains that they couldn't get out, and that was so, but pretty minor.
