The second and third photo's were taken at Lake Harrison, British Columbia, approx. 60 miles east of Vancouver, Canada. The lake is 60 miles long and 6 to 10 miles wide, includes several large islands with sheltered inlets and public docking and is surrounded by year round snow peaked mountains. The lake head village Harrison Hot springs (population +/- 1000 people) offers a top notch 500 room hotel, shopping, beach walk, restaurants, 3 marinas, a yachting club and several wonderful hot spring pools. Two public boat ramp launches, one with and one without a dock facilities are available. The lake is in a total wilderness setting, many areas accessible only by boat.

Another of our favourite spots is Fossil Bay on Sucia Island, San Juan Islands, Washington State with its many inlets, anchorage's and nature trails. (Picture below)

Some years ago it was the main reason Don we refused the company to transfer us back east (Toronto) again.
For anyone wanting to haul/sail the boat, during spring/summer/fall a little farther north it will be a great experience. Please let me know and we'll look for sailing time together

Ok, I'm gonna have to retract a statement I made
in another thread about having mountains around our lake,
They're gopher mounds compaired to those!

As Don said, you have a beautiful sailing venue!
Though it does look a little chilly.
But still, what a gorgeous backdrop to sail against.

Thanks for sharing and I hope its not too long before you can get back out there!

I'm glad that we can share these few images with you and are indeed very fortunate to be able to explore such an unbelievable coast line & lakes.

You're correct Charlie it is chilly this time of the year but warms up nicely a little later on.

We now have the pleasure, as Opa and Oma, of exposing the next generation (9 grand kids) to this all. From the enclosed images you can taste the delight we all feel on his face while holding the tiller all by himself.

My C25 is currently on the trailer in a storage shed in Sicamous - I'm trying to figure out where to sail this spring and summer - is there a marina or safe place to leave a boat at Harrison?

Stampeder. You'll enjoy sailing this lake very much. This is a lake and then some for sailing!! The full facility marina I would recommend is Killer Cove marina. You can look up the details on the internet and also Harrison Lake Yacht Club located close to the marina. Let me know when you’re planning to be there and perhaps we can sail together

We are tentatively planning to launch the boat the 3rd week in April weather permitting. We’ll launch at the public dock in Harrison, overnight on the hook, have breakfast on board, dingy to shore for a dip in the hot springs pool, lunch, afternoon shut eye, snack, hot spring pool soak, wine/dine either on board or a boardwalk restaurant, evening stroll, night cap, star gazing, off to the wonderful V berth. Next day repeat and perhaps sail in the afternoon. Day 3 idem dito. Day 4 might consider sailing to Long Island Bay public dock which is about 30 km. or 20 miles one way. Day 5 Same routine but add a little dingy exploration, fishing, reading books, nature trails, star gazing, BBQ the catch if any on board etc. Repeat and add exploration by sail/motor of the surrounding area... repeat, until supplies run out.

For the rest of the 6 month 2006 season we reserved a slip at Point Roberts marina, Washington State and plan to explore the San Juans and the Gulf islands
