I've been getting a good number of requests for access info to the members area lately. Most are from guys who have renewed or signed up for the first time which is an extremely good thing. Thank you all for joining.

I am not blowing you off, (well actually I sort of am, but let me explain)

Initially, it was one here and another on there. However the volume of requests is on the increase and my ability to track down the payment, the password and the official members list for each one has started to take up some time.

As many of you now know, Nanosec processes the applications in batches. It takes a bit of time for these to work their way through the system and for your login information to arrive via pony express. I ask that before you contact JB, Me or any other officer you give it a week to ten days. If at that time you still haven't received anything, send me an email. I'll work to track everything down.

Thanks for your understanding.
Duane

I concur with everything Duane has said, except that it may take as long as six weeks. Each month's receipts are processed in a batch by Nanosec at the end of the month. So, if you mail your membership (1 week) and it arrives the day after the monthly batch has been processed, your membership won't be processed for another four weeks. Allowing another week for your welcome letter to reach you makes the total possible delay six weeks.

This situation never presented a problem in the past, because all that the members area user name and password gave access to were the electronic copies of the old TellTale newsletters. Guess there's been substantial value added in that area. However, please do wait a few weeks before contacting an officer, because the number of requests and subsequent amount of work is becoming somewhat unmanageable.

As Duane said, thanks for your understanding.

(Thanks, Duane. I didn't know that you were also processing these requests.)

Do you get any notification in the mail when you renew, or is a letter only sent to new memebers?

Ah, good point, Rick.

You know, I've asked that question before and I'm still not sure of the answer, even after expressing a preference for welcome letters to go out each year.

Thanks for the reminder to follow-up on the issue again!
