My brain is stuck on sailing. Inbetween working today I'm farting around in front of the computer, the weather here sux, but Antares helped me get the photo thingie to work so here are some sailing pics from our baja trip. I posted a link earlier but it was a little cumbersome with all the non sailing photos.

In retrospect, I cannot emphasize what a cool trip this was. Also, we didn't take enough pictures; we were pretty busy much of the time making sure everything was ok. Newbie paranoia ... it keeps me warm, dry, and alive.

This finback was playing about 100 yards astern. Rita took this photo from Sabrosa, really. Were about two miles out of Puerto Escondido. We were in 400+ feet of water and the depth finder went nuts a few seconds before the whale.

The VHF antenna is in the way of this pic, and the lil' outboard is on the inflateable we towed behind us. When the whale rolled and splashed, it freaked out our dog Nessa. It freaked out Rita. It freaked out me. Did'ja know whale breath is kinda stinky?

Wonderful shots! Thanks for posting them for us Northeasterners... There was ice on the river this morning, and my splash-date is weeks away.

Thanks for the pics. I won't be in the water for another four weeks and I can hardly sit still. Cheers.

Awesome pics.
My dog is about the same size as yours...if she saw a whale she'd probably go over the side after it.

We hope to drag our C25 down your way next year.

Very nice shots, waterboy. We paid a visit to our boat yesterday, on the hard & under plastic (and not so far from Eveleth, Minnesota, relatively speaking); the good news is the marina is ice-free and some of the powerboats have splashed, not that they'll be able to go anywhere until the rest of the lake thaws in a week or so. In the meantime, pics and stories like yours are terrific. Many thanks.
