Hi All, When I bought this boat last December it was on the hard about qn hour and a half from me. I just paid up the slip fees at the marina 20 minutes from my house.....so, I made the decision last night to finish up the exterior work and move it to the new slip. It will be motor the whole way and should take about six hours. I did not think that I would have the time to get it in the water this fast but seeing how I can't sleep, I've plenty time. Cheers.
Sounds similar to my recent trip across the Chesapeake. My boat used to be a 2 hour drive from my place, we then motor sailed across which took about 6.5 hours. There just wasn't much wind, that's why we motored most of the way. My boat is still just over an hour away, but it's about half the drive now which is nice. Good luck and enjoy the trip.
Thanks Justin, I am looking forward to it. I will be going down the St. Clair river which has an 8 knot current so I should make good time for that leg, then across lake St. Clair...so maybe two hours on wide open water. Cheers.
Hi Don, yep! I have a slip at Markley Marina. The boat is in St. Clair just south of Port Huron at the moment. Have you made that trip? I can't find anyone that has. I'd like to be aware of any issues along the way. Cheers.

Yes, I've made the trip. On the way down, I just hugged the American shore then took the Middle Channel on my way to Point Huron/MetroBeach. Nice, peaceful trip.
Splash is always good. Every year I am surprised by my loss of sea legs. I spend all winter on my boat in my driveway. I get very used to those jackstands under the trailer. When I stepped on mine the otherday for the first time this season I was caught off guard by how "tippy" it was, and when I spent the night on it I was catching myself as I walked around inside. I think I have my sea legs back now, it has been a week. Be careful.
Hi Frank, I know what you mean. I went fishing with a friend two weeks ago in Florida. It took me a couple hours to feel comfortable on his boat, but that night as I lay in bed drifting off, I swear the bed was rocking. I will be careful. Cheers.
