Spent some time yesterday attempting to disassemble the foil from the wire. It appears obvious that you loosen the screws on the foil, but are you able to disconnect the eyeloop at the top? Or do you somehow remove the wire from the bottom of the assembly? I want to take it apart for when I move the boat because it is about 9 feet longer than the boat.

Rick, what unit do you have? All of the manuals are on the harken site if you need instructions. Mine you just remove a Key at the top of the furler drum, then the drum slides up so you can take the forstay loose. Then you just slide everything off the forstay. The extrusion itself has small allen bolts that attach the 7' sections to the top.
