Any ideas were I could buy a boom tent? I have two left hands and my wife......well lets just say she's not very talented in the sewing arts!. Any ideas would be very welcomed!!!!!!
I had a zipper sewn into the front of my bimini and the other half of the zipper sewn into a piece of sunbrella to create a tarp. Its not a boom tent but sure keep things cool.
The sail loft sewed the zipper on when they made the bimini. The wife made the tarp. She folded the edges over and sewed them, she then sewed the other half the zipper on the tarp. I put a couple grommets on the other corners to tie off on. Not very hard to do.
No offense, but why don't YOU run the sewing machine? I am all male but learned to sew a bit just for these occasions. A good strong machine is all you need.
Think of it as another type of "construction" with a different set of "tools". I do my own work and it's saved me thousands over the years. Wish I had a digital; I would send a pic of the incredible boom tent I have (made by a PO). It snaps all around the stern pulpit, along the lifelines up to the rear shrouds. Really great in crummy weather. Another C25 owner borrowed it for a pattern and had one made by a talented friend of his.
I say, "Don't blame the wife; get motivated and do it yourself:.

The boom tent you described is EXACTLY what I'd like to make. How much begging would it take to get you to figure out how to post a photo and/or plans for it?
Gary, I’d love to see the photos as well. Augusts are scorchers here with little wind. Does that pattern still exist? Maybe one of your design students could do a scale drawing for extra credit.
Go ahead click on the bird. </font id="size2"> </font id="Comic Sans MS">
