I'd really like to put a bow roller on my boat, either for anchor storage or just to make getting the chain back aboard easier. Does anybody have any ideas or experience on this?
This has been done on the c250 by Davis Northnagel but I'm not sure if he posted the tech tip...if not, I likely can find the pics somewhere.... he did a great job.
Basically it consist of a tube of stainless bent in a curve which anchors above the rub rail to slugs under deck lip much in the same way as the chainplates on the water ballast. Embedded in the curve is a finished piece of hardwood. This supports the bow roller...
I ASKED THIS SAME QUESTION A WHILE BACK AND CONTACTED DAVIS. HE NOW OWNS A LARGER CATALINA, HOWEVER, HE DID SHARE SOME PICTURES AND DIRECTIONS ON HOW TO, WITH ME. I ASKED IF I COULD POST THEM IN THE 250 TECH TIPS FOR HIM AND HE SAID OK. I HAVE BEEN QUITE DELINQUENT <img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle> IN GETTING THEM TO MARK M. I WILL TRY AND FOREWARD THE INFORMATION ON TO YOU. IF YOU DON'T GET IT E-MAIL ME DIRECTLY.
