I'm trying to find a replacement rubrail for my 8' Ensign fiberglass dingy. I can't find the company on the internet. Any suggestions on where I could find a replacement?

Never pass up a chance to upgrade, I would not be looking for the same rub rail, I would be looking for what ever appealed to me and then make it work.

Take a look at catalina direct. you can find them on our assn links page (look to your left up at the top of this page.

If you bought the one for the 22 foot catalina, you could almost certainly cut it down to fit your ensign

As I recall, Defender Industries has a selection of flexible rubrail by the foot.

Depending upon your tastes, other alternatives might include: 1x2 or half-round teak or fir (varnished if you're feeling masochistic), split hose, split swim noodles, hot water pipe insulation, used firehose (installed flat outside the gunnel, or split over the gunnel). Some of the split-tube solutions might also need to be lashed on, requiring a row of small, widely spaced holes just below the gunnel. If considering any of these non-marine grade alternatives, keep UV resistance in mind.
