Hi users, I had been having a problem with the cowling clamp coming open after a run and when I tried to raise the motor the cowl came up without the motor. At first I thought it a fluke and just reclamped it, but when it persisted I took it off and almost lost the cowl gasket overboard. I thought the problem was gasket related but didn't think it was so completely gone. Some months ago I posted about a loose gasket and the need to reglue it with some discussion here about the appropriate material to use. Today the only portion of the gasket remaining was the 5" section that I had reglued with Wellwood Contact Cement. Saved me from losing the cowl gasket and perhaps even the cowl.

Ya'll best check your motors for loose cowl gasket and if you find it has started to come loose take a minut and reglue the entire gasket. Don't wait for calamity to prompt you to take action.
