In case you didn't know by know, Paul Cayard and the Pirates of the Carribean boat won the last leg of the race, and they took second overall. A couple of weekends ago they actually had a half hour program on the race on TV, showing the leg across the Atlantic. All I can say is WOW. I can't believe how fast those boats go. They have to sail in all seas and conditions. Really big cajones there. Not like those weenie America's cup people who can only sail if it is blowing between 14 and 16 knots, with seas between 1.5 and 2.25 feet, and only if the lawyers will let them. Just kidding now. Well, maybe they will sail up to 17 knots, but nothing over as the million dollar carbon fibre masts will break.
If anybody ever sees a DVD of a recap of the Volvo race, let us know. That would be worth buying and watching.
