The teak eyebrow over my port side window broke off during a scrubbing. Does anyone know of a source? I am in the Chicago area.
While I am at it, the rest of my 20 year old teak trim is a mess and I am contemplating replacing all of it. Any good source for this kind of trim. I have tried Catalina Direct and they do not stock most of the parts for a C-25.
In terms of the "eyebrow" I had to buy a block of 3/4" teak from West Marine and refabricate my own, but this was difficult.
You may have some luck if you contact Alan Veenstra, owner of the Chicago Sailing Club. They are based out of Belmont Harbor in summer and on Campbell Ave. in winter. He is a nationally recognized rigger, his opinions of furler installations appeared last year in Practical Sailor. He may not respond immediately, but if he knows anywhere you could get teak to match I would think he would get back to you by email. The club sails only J-22s and J-30s I believe, but Alan has sources all over for materials.
