I would like to install a hammock inside the cabin for sleeping. Has anyone tried this with good results? I would like to keep it simple and comfortable and have no problem keeping all the hatches open when the weather cooperates. Thanks.
I'm not sure how this could be accomplished given the size constraints of our cabins. We do have a hammock chair we sometimes use on the foredeck. We suspend it from the jib halyard and use a second line to the bow pulpit to hold it away from the mast. Very comfortable way to relax in the evening.
Given your willingness to keep hatches open, what about running one line forward through the hatch to the forestay and run the other one aft through the hatchway to the backstay. With some adjusting of lengths that should put you about in the middle of the main cabin.
I would have something ready to deal with bad weather but this seems like a quick, simple, non-invasive way to hang your hammock.
