Can I remove one side of the backstays and leave the other one? Why or why not? Right now the port one is really on my nervs and reading the posts about the backstays got me thinkin'

Any other ideas?

The backstay on my 95 WB goes from the top of the mast to the port side of the boat just behind the rear stanchion. It mounts ONLY on the port side. I can't think of any reason why you couldn't have it mount only on the starboard side. Truth be told, I wish they had mounted mine there. It's irritating having to get around it every time you come up the ladder.
