Boaters World had a closeout deal on this unit + the external GPS antenna for $600. It looks very comparable to the Lowrance LCX-25C except for case color (gray vs. black) and depth capabilities (1500f vs. 3000f). They're both made by Lowrance and have a 7" color screen.

Does anybody have the Eagle unit? Talk me off the cliff before I hit the "Buy" button

I have an eagle combo unit. It is very nice and for the price, hard to beat. I was considering that unit, but thought it might be too big to mount in the companionway. It is a steal for the price but think about where you will put it.

You mean bigger isn't always better?

It'll stick out around 9" into the companionway, just need to find an affordable mount.
