I have decided to offer my P30 for sale. If any of you know anyone who may be interested, please share this listing with them. I love this boat and have had great fun with it, but for the moment I need to bow out of boat ownership.
The boat is a 1978 with a very strong and happy Atomic Four. Decks are in excellent condition with very little Pearson swirl in the gelcoat. The boat is well equipped with JRC radar, Navico autopilot, Lectrasan, and new this year Standard Horizon DSC radio with remote microphone mounted in the portside cockpit coaming box. Interior cushions are in excellent condition. The boat is dry with no apparent deck leaks. Sails are in good condition for cruising. Mainsail is fully battened with three reefs. Roller furling. Two headsails - 150% and a high cut blade. Symetrical spinnaker with gear to fly it tacked to the headstay as an assymetrical as well.
Boat is fully equiped with safety and galley equipment and is totally ready to go. I've sailed it happily all summer. Electrical system has been upgraded with circuit breakers at the switch panel.
10 foot air floor Zodiac with 8hp engine available as part of the transaction at or near my asking price. The boat is available at a negotiated price without the dinghy if preferred.
The boat is lying in Falmouth, ME. I would deliver it, or help deliver it, on the east coast.
Hi - I agree, the P30 is a good fit for many uses. My boat has a tiller, which was important to me for racing - I like the feel. No bow roller yet, though if I have it until next season I'll install one.
Folks, I'm far from an expert on any kind of boat, but I have sailed on Justin's boat both in cruising mode and in a 2 day race this summer. This is one solid boat, comfortable and really nice to sail on. I actually called Justin today because I thought he mistyped the price. I would have expected him to be selling this boat in excess of $15000. Yes, I'm his friend, but I've looked at enough boats to tell you this is an amazing opportunity. If you had any thoughts of moving up, you should give this a serious look.
Thanks, Rick. With regard to the price: its worth a bunch to me to sell the boat before I have to haul and store it. Once I pull it out of the water, the price will go up by the cost of hauling and storing it, which will be aroudn $2000.
