Well Fran we learned last year that Lake Chaney has nothing more than a gentle breeze. (FYI other posters it was blowing like stink at Nationals last year!)
On Canyon Lake, "breezy" is 15k! (No wonder that my new hi-tech 155% genoa on a tall rig was too powerful for Cheney...bummer!) What did it actually blow Frank? Steady 22-23 with gusts to 30 at the weather mark? Derek
NWS: "Breezy, with a southwest wind between 16 and 21 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph"
Looks like about 25mph is the breakpoint here, too. Sorry, couldnt get the hourly graph in a postable format, but I LIVE by that page... Too bad we dont get anything NEAR that steady around here!
Dennis, These hourly graphs are wonderful, but don't confuse precision with accuracy - sometimes they get it wrong. They're also hard to find. Click here to get to a map of your area. Click on the map to bring up the graph. You'll need to place your cursor carefully to get the spot you want. Double check the description at the top of the graph page to be sure you're in the right area. I noticed that some parts of the map don't bring up the graph, so keep trying. Once you get the graph, you can select the weather features you want to see. I generally just go with temp, wind, and precip. potential. Once you get the graph set the way you want, bookmark it! You may never find it again otherwise.
