My 135% genoa has to cross over (to the outboard side) of the lifeline, and rubs against it and the leeward pulpit railing. Do I need to get extra protection against chafe at these points, or is this just 'normal?'
John 250 WB #887 'Flying Wasp' , formerly 'MAD MOM'
John that is normal for all catalina 25's where the jib tack attaches to the deck, except the 78-79 models that had life lines that were attached to the deck pulpit junction. When I race I still disconnect my life lines from the upper attach points and attach them to the bottom. This gives the jib a much better shape and full power.
