I have thought of losing my keys overboard (or over dock) everytime I go to my boat. I should make it a point to get the bouoy for my one boat key, and leave the car keys in the pockets.
After one of our other very competent sailors, who has a very stable dingy, dumped his dingy losing keys, tools, cell phones, etc., I bought a coffe can sized waterproof canister from Bass Pro Shops for about $5. Now every time we head out to the boat in our dingy the keys and cell phones are stored in the canister. If that goes overboard, at least it's waterproof and floats. They also have a bigger model about the size of a shoe box for about $12. Good investment!

We always have a 'floatable' bright orange box onboard, hadn't thought of using it to keep valuables in when going ashore in the dink. Hence we never take the camera or cell phone but our radios are supposed (right!) to be dunk proof (bet they don't float on thier own!)
fhopper, great flag! The duck/pirate insignia I am using is one of the Disney-approved insignias for the University of Oregon Ducks athletics. I'm a big Duck fan, hence nautiduck, and a wanta-be pirate too. AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!
