I’m keeping my Catalina in the water this winter in CT. I have chosen to bubble wrap with my rigging in place. How easy is it to remove the sail from the job furling unit? Can someone describe the general process. My Furlex Jib User Guide doesn't describe the process.
I believe for any unit other than CDI, you drop the jib halyard and pull the sail down. They generally won't drop. You'll have to pull it down.
Not sure what you mean by bubble wrapping your rigging. It's probably not necessary with stainless steel, and may encourage some corrosion if you do. Spray some WD 40 or a silicone spray lube on your turnbuckle threads and let it go at that.
