I'm looking for a cheap source of line for my boat. Theropedope.com has been suggested, but the guy is away from his business on a boatshow tour. Can you suggest other sources of cheap rope? Cheap source of Harken hardware?

Harken sells its product to its dealers at 50% off retail. Most of those dealers will offer you 20 or even 30% off. If you give the Harken dealer a list of all the stuff you want, you should be able to get it for 60-65% of retail. Small purchases are not going to get you a big discount. Consider redoing a substantial amount and you may find you spend less than you would otherwise. It MAY even be worth replacing stuff you wouldn't have otherwise and then selling your used gear.
YMMV

Milwaukee rigging is one guy on ebay I have a link below that will pull up specifically line from Milwaukee rigging and other vendors on ebay. Even if you don't go this route, check out the link....it is a taste of some new stuff just around the corner.

Check out some of his stuff here.... Also check out Layline.com...They are one of the sponsors that might pop up if you do a search for line on the new search box....(its a crude way to get a link, but that way will benefit the assn.)

THis is just to give you guys a taste of what might be around the corner....

As for Harken - do a froogle search www.froogle.com

Search defender.com's clearance section and then go directly to Harken and check their clearance stuff....

After that, sailnet used to be the cheapest, but the prices are a little higher after they were bought out of bankruptcy and restructured by a bunch of new guys.

try contacting garhauer instead of harken, it is inexpensive, well made, very nice looking and guaranteed for at least 10 years. all the new catalinas have them.
