Has anyone used those wheels on the stern of their dinghy which helps pull it up on a beach?
I love my dinghy -- it's built like a tank, it rows well, it sails well and it even goes pretty well with my little 1.4 hp Eska. But it's HEAVY, requiring many difficult "heaves" to drag it up onto a beach, especially on an in-coming tide.
Hi RichardG I use some that I bought at West Marine. I got the ones that have 4 small wheels (2 on each side) that clamps onto the transom. (You have to turn the boat upside down to use them)They were only about $40, if I remember correctly. They work "ok", but not great..... Rolls pretty easy on the hard pack sand but very difficult to use in the soft sand, I would not recommend their use if you have to pull it through much soft sand. They do make some for the soft sand, but I remember them being alot higher priced. Since I'm on a lake and only have to pull it about 40'then the cheap ones are ok for me.
