Ill be changing out all the to hulls this winter. I have a few questions fro those that have done this.

2) Did you pu

I'm not sure about all your questions, but you definately need to fabricate and install a backing plate for the through hull fitting. It is what the nut snugs up against, and depending upon the type of fitting you're using, the seacock is secured to it a

Douglas,

I changed mine out, replacing with bronze through-hulls. I didn't use backing plates, just the large nut. After removing the old to-hull pipes, I did have to grind down the inside flat. Dry-fit a few time to get it right.

Hi Ed,

What gives? Did you unintentionally misspell your name or did you have a name change :) Ken blames such occurances on fat fingers. I have skinny fingers but they shake a heck of a lot with the same results.

I changed my to hulls to thru hulls last winter. The only thing
I can tell you is the peace of mind is great, especially after reading
all the past posts regarding this subject. I used brass, painted over
them as a part of the bottom job.

Doug:

You really do not need a backing plate if you grind down the inside of the boat parallel to the hull. What I did was to purchase a Mikita grinder (four inch for about $50.00) and cut the bronze fitting right at the place where Frank Butler gooped

Hi Val, I think you were writing to me in your question about the spelling of my name and yes I did goof up. Missed the 'T' in the middle. There is probably a way of correcting this without reregistering. Haven't spent any time figuring this out yet.

Richard, I opened an account with shutterfly and saved my photos there. I did all of the step 2 as discribed. My problem is in the 3 step. I click the insert image button. In my case the 2 {url} are 2 {image}. When I try to preview the post I get a bo

If the boxed red 'x' is in the preview, the image probably won't show up in your post.

You are right, my instructions were not entirely correct -- pushing the "insert image" button inserts a {img} and a {/img}. Also, in my instructions (and her

My biggest problem is lack of time to just sit and fiddle until it works. The time I can spend in front of my computer is limited and I like to spend it as productively as possible. There is a chance that I will be selling one of my businesses soon, tha
