I joined the Catalina Association on Oct.4, 2006. I get a renewal notice post marked Oct. 18 that states my membership expires 9/30/2006. I havent even recieved a Mainsheet or the C25 manual that I was billed for Oct. 11. What gives? Rick & Liisa Pelton
I am going to ask the person that processes memberships to look into this for us. Your entry in our membership database looks wrong to me, that probably explains some of this.
Let me confirm my understanding - you joined for the first time on Octber 4th, 2006, correct?
If the entry is wrong, that might explain why you did not get a mainsheet yet. Also, I can never remember the mainsheet publication dates, but it only comes out 4 times a year, so if you joined in October 2006, you would not have received one yet.
I am puzzled about your comment about a C25 manual. I did not know we sell those. Did you order it from the organization?
I am going to copy the email we have on file when I email the membership person (Lu Ann), so you can see the reply.
I'm sorry!!! The Catalina manual is from Catalina Direct, not Catalina International. We were still surprised to find a renewal notice in the mail only a few weeks after joining the association. Thanks for looking into this for us. Rick & Liisa Pelton
I get the mainsail magazine but I had a similar situation in that I was notified by letter that my membership fee was due but it has dates to pay by so that uninterupted service will continue and the date for me to pay for uninterrutped service had already passed. Well...then why not send the bills out a month earlier or.....LEAN the process whereby less time is needed to process billings and maintain uninterrupted service.
Just a suggestion I paid as soon as bill was received. Whatever happens for a month or two is not going to get me too excited but just wanted to let you know of the conflicting letter that was sent out. Found it more interesting than anything else.
