18 to 32 inches. Does not fit the new style tiller inserts, so if you have the old style and lost or broke you extender, here's a replacemnt.
Excellent condition, insert not included-you need to have that, shipping is your responsibility.

Best offer.

Rick

It could probably be rehabilitated as a light collapsable boat hook. The kind someone with a boat with low freeboard might really like.

Good point Frank, hadn't thought of that. I just figured maybe someone had let theirs roll off the edge of the boat into the drink and might not want to spend $50 or more on a new one. This ones been hanging around in my boat forever. Even the rotted tiller I replaced didn't have the receiver installed, so this thing is probably 15 years old or more.

Yes it is that old, I had one like it back in the early 80s, it is an excellent product. Old racing equipment has a certain cache`, it is cool and it would be neat to save it.

Is this item still available? If so, consider it sold (depending on asking price) Seriously though, I am very, very interested.

Ben,

Make an offer. Via email would probably be better.

I sold one of these a few weeks back on ebay for $41 without the tiller insert. They seem to be very popular despite the age.

Hey Rick if someone needs the insert, I have one so you can sell it as a complete set or I can just mail it to the lucky buyer. Let me know. It would be nothing for me to drop it in the mail.

Hi Rick, I just sent you an email with an offer. and Saribella, I think my tiller has the insert but I'm not sure if it's the right one. If I end up being the lucky bidder, I'd love to take your insert off your hands, for an appropriate fee of course.

Thanks,

Sounds good, Rick. I haven't gotten your email yet, probably because my email server is a little flaky. If it doesn't get fixed before hand, I'll definitely respond on Monday.

Thanks so much,

Ben,

No need to send an appropriate fee. It will cost me $.41 to mail it. Maybe you can buy me a drink if you and I make it to the Nationals. Let me know if you still need the insert.

Rick, I received the tiller extender yesterday and it is wonderful! Thanks so much, I think you should have charged me more though. And the icing on the cake...it fits the receiver that was already on the end of my tiller!

So again, thanks so much; and Matt, thank you so much too for the offer for the insert. I thought that I might have the appropriate insert but couldn't tell until I received the tiller extender. I'll still buy you a drink at Nationals though, I'll buy two for Rick as well and you and I will just have to drink them for him. :-)

What makes you think I won't be at Nationals? I won't be able to bring Swimmer, but if I can get the time, I'm going to try to attend.

Glad you're happy with the extender. One less thing to roll around in my boat.

Oops, sorry Rick. I certainly hope you're at Nationals. I'll enjoy having a beer with both you guys!
