I have a plastic gas tank that has developed a leak along the area where the 2 parts of the tank are glued together at the factory. What should I use to reglue this? Thanks in advance for any suggestions, Dave

I've had decent luck with Devcon Plastic Welder although I've never tried it on a gas tank.

Buy a new tank. It's not worth the risk, especially for a small 3.5 tank.

Dave I think that you are looking for trouble. The cost of a new tank can't be a heck of a lot more than the cost of the glue to re cement it back together. The thought of a tank of gas opening up while under way boggles my mind, and if were because I was trying to cut corners

Sometimes ya just gotta bite the bullet. I think this is one of those times.

Also Dave, perhaps excessive internal pressure caused the tank to seperate...might be a tank left in sun without the tank vent open.

Buy a new tank for less than $50. Cheap peace of mind.

Thanks guys for all the input, I agree; why set yourself up for a failure and so ordered a new one. Merry Christmas! Dave
