I am bottom painting a dolphin, stored on a trailer, sailed in salt water. Can I paint the bottom with topsides paint, or, do I need a "bottom" paint? I do not think I need antifouling, as it wont be stored in the water. Thanks for the help. dan

So long as you don't leave it in still water for more than a day or so at a time, I don't expect you'll need antifouling paint. I painted my entire plywood, epoxy, and fiberglass dinghy with EasyPoxy (topsides paint). I had it in ocean water continuously for a week or two at a time while cruising, but I moved the boat several miles every day. I didn't seen any accumulation of marine growth. However, I've seen dinghies left tied up only a couple days start to attract slime and other small critters.
