Hi Dave do you know the differences in outside diamater, and the height of the drum? I have a Lewmar 6 on my cabin top on my 89, and it sits inside a recess. If the Lewmar 7 winch is bigger in diamater, it wouldn't work. But I would like a taller winch. By the way, what is your plan for a 6 vs a 7?
Mounting Instructions 4 x M6 (1/4 in) c’sk head screws on 66mm (2 19/32 in) PCD. Lewmar recommend that the rope enters onto the drum at an angle of 5º to 10º to the base axis of the winch. To achieve this angle it may be necessary to use a base wedge when installing the winch.

Frank. Frank has it right. 4 1/4 diam. 4 h. I'm using it on the cabin top. Have a 6 on stbd. seems adequate for all my purposes. I would like to put a 6 on port cabintop instead of using the 7.
