This weekend we've been setting new temperature records with highs in the 90s. We had an excellent sailing day Sunday - there were several hours of good wind. Last night, Monday, was the first day of daylight-savings time after work. This is the start of the "season" for me. I left work about 4:30 and was sailing out into the Pacific by 5:15. The wind was about 10 knots and held for hours. I had a great sail, on a reach about 4 to 5 miles out of Mission Bay, then turned and reached back in dying breeze. Seas were 1 to 2, air clear and sunny. I made it all the way back into the bay - it was getting dark and calm when I got a call around 7:15 PM saying the crew was ready for me to test the changes to the County's computer system. We had a date for 8, I was still furling the main. I told them I'd be there in 30 minutes. I did the test and was back to the boat by 9, finished cleaning up, made a bite to eat, read Around the World in Wanderer III and went to sleep. Up and into the office by 08:30.

Here is shooting for 200 days at sea this year.

Aw, dang!! Here he goes again!! No way anyone can keep up with Jim's number of sailing days, right? Anyone else live within 10 minutes of your boat and can sail more days than Jim? He gets really hard to deal with because he thinks no one else can sail as much as he can.
I've been thinking I need to move a couple slips away to avoid his constant gloating about days spent sailing versus my own. I live too far away to keep up with his torrid pace!!!....just kidding, Jim
So should we make this a friendly challenge to the rest of the C25/C250 nation? Who will have the record at the end of the year?

3 days in a row now. Last night was light south winds with a big fog bank offshore. 65 miles logged in the last 2 weeks.

Nice photo of the fog bank

Very cool photo. If I didn't have a picture of my kids as a background I would use it on my computer. Cheers.

the photo is just off Children's Pool here in La Jolla. Taken by a kayaker and posted on the fishing board I belong to.

Last night almost no wind, worked for hours trying to tack out of Mission Bay against a foul current.
