Well...almost...seems to be always one more to squeak in ! Adding a DC Outlet under forward starboard side seat and using the old mast wire recycling it to run the DC outlet.

Projects completed:
New Battery Charger installed in the Fall. Then completed the mast rewire job from last Spring by adding a new deck connector, replacing the mast wire to it to a new 8 circuit breaker BEP Switch Panel. Just completed adding two Caframo Scirroco fans.

I added photos of these projects on my website. Click on the main screen icon for "Switch Panel, Battery Charger, Fans". Still have to add the write-ups/details. Here is a photo of the switch panel - If it does not come out, then please go to the website.

Thanks ! I selected those fans because they were extremely versatile in the ways that it can face and folds flat. The fan locks in about 6 angles, 180 degrees folding flat each way. Then, for operating the fans, they are sort of gimbal mounted in that after you lock it in the position to run it, then you can turn it 360 degrees inside the bracket as well as tilt it up or down. It just has to be handled carefully because one side has only plastic supports and a bit flimsy. The other side has a metal frame support that you can hold to turn it. The fans have an on switch with 3 speeds/ The other switch, if used, allows timer settings to turn it off in 2, 4 or 6 hrs. Each fan uses a max of .4 amps at fast speed and they throw air well at slow speed. At high speed, it gets a little noisy and quite frankly, I wish it had a slower speed setting as well. I will probably use it only in slow speed.

There is more to the fan story. I did not check extensively on the web for least cost but West marine had a sale on fans not that long ago. It was only thru their website. They were selling the Caframo Scirrocos listed in the catalog as $99 for $79. There was no shipping cost because it was over $100 or $150 limit. besides, the store does not normally carry this model and it would have been a special order in the store and I would not have gotten the sale price.

I received the fans after just a few days. One fan had 3 of the 4 the plastic supports that directly connect to the fan - broken. the other fan was cosmetically fine. i checked both fans out at home to see if they worked and the broken one did not. I called mail order service and they indicated it would be easier to bring the broken fan to the local West Marine store to square it away. the local store indicated, kiddingly, "They would say that !" But that was a good idea and I was satisfied that i bought mail order from a store that is also local to handle the defective fan. What they did was to special order one fan. Then when it arrived the next week, we just swapped the broken one for the new one they received. i installed them and no problems.

When you removed the old Power panel how big was the hole it left behind? How did you cover it?

WOW.. the snow on the dock looks cold... Sure glad I am in Southern Cal. :-) he he he

It does snow in Virginia. Sometimes we have relatively mild winters but generally there is a period of about a month when the temps get down into the teens. I believe the photos on my website that you saw the snow on the dock was from last year. Last year was relatively mild except for 1 or 2 snows. I was out sailing almost every week in the winter esxcept for perhaps 2-3 weeks. This year, it started off mild but then around January we got hit with exceptionally cold temps that just hung around for about a month or more. We had one particularly bad snow/ice storm and it resulted in thick ice that stayed on the sides of the streets forever. This year, the Potomac River and the Anacostia River froze, so there was no boating for about a month. Then some of us die-hards were back out again. Tomorrow, I think the temps will be in the high 40s or so. I will be out sailing. My boat is about 10 minutes from work.

The old switch panel: Actually, I decided to leave the old switch panel as is. I was not sure what I was going to do with the hole and I also figured...you can never have enough switches. Right now, I am planning on leaving my VHF radio and my DC outlet adapters on the old switch panel. On the new switch panel, I still have to label the fan switch and believe that will leave me with 2 extra switched on it for now. The other switches used are for the : Nav lights, steaming light, deck light, anchor light, cabin lights.

I guess one possibility if one wanted to remove the old switch panel and wanted to plug the spot up with something, you could put a battery charger in that spot. maybe have to turn the charger vertically but...believe my battery charger is about the size of the old switch panel. Right now, I have the battery charger (as shown in my photo) hanging off of the quarterberth wood rail. But I have the wood protected with velcro under it and same goes with the standoffs to keep the charger off the fiberglas wall, providing it some ventilation area.
