Will I receive a notice in the mail, or better yet, email when dues are due? I pretty sure I must be overdue but don't know for sure.
Also, in regards to the members list, there seems to be some confusion regarding year built and model year, at least in the 250 section. Any way to edit our member list entries? Hate to bug y'all for minor changes.
Also, there used to be 25 and 250 patches and stickers available in the Ships Store. It would be nice if they could be made available again. I seem to remember someone offering stickers last year but couldn't find any reference in the archives. Anyone remember him?
And lastly, is the Telltale newsletter mainly a vehicle for assoc. business, or could it possibly broadened to contain more content? Just curious.
On a quarterly basis you'll get an email from Nano-sec who handles our renewals. It will most likely give you an option to pay via paypal. You can check with Kevin and he will be able to check the members list with expiration dates just in case you might have missed the email.
We haven't had patches in quite a long time. There are stickers (decals) available in the ships store.
Not sure what you mean by year built and model year. There really isn't a model year like cars. Year built is what boats go by. If the model changes, catalina has started the MK series numbering for the newer boats. They would come out with a new model. If I'm missing the point here please give me an example or more information.
Send me your full name and address, and I will check on your membership. Please email me at kevin@catapult.biz.
The telltales is sent out after every officers meeting (monthly). It can contain any content submitted for it. If you have somthing you would like to put in there, we can add it, just send it to me.
Most folks choose to "publish" there stuff using the web site, rather than putting in telltales. It is easier to search the web site.
When did you take posession/when was it commissioned?
What is your HIN?
It's not that I don't believe you I can definitely see the potential for problem, I'm researching some things to see what is the actual date recognized. And - how the hin is determined.
Duane, I think Catalina has become like car manufacturers. The model year flips a good bit before the end of the calendar year. My boat, for example, is a 2006, but it was delivered in early December 2005, and therefore built in the last quarter of '05 sometime.
I think the year built is irrelevent, the year in the id number is the year that identifies the boat. I don't know any way of conclusively determining when a boat is actually built. Catalina, for example, builds a number of hull blanks at the same time I think, then finishes them off into boats as the orders come in.
I don't really know much about all this, but for what little its worth, there are some thoughts for you.
Sorry for the late reply, been on the boat since Wednesday with the kids for their spring break. I took possession on July 1st, 2004 and the HIN ends in 05.
