Just wanted to relate my recent expiernce with Garmin. We sail in and around Galveston Island. I turned on my GPS the other day and it read "battery removed". So I called Garmin Tech Dept and told them of my problem. The guy didn't ask any questions and just said I'll send you a new on out today. I really expected to have to buy a new battery. To add to the surprise I called them on Wed the 11th and got the new one by UPS today the 13th. Kudos to this company. Needless to say I was pleased and surprised with their service. I bought a Garmin GPS 76csx just recently, I ordered the marine mount, and then later decide that I wanted one for my Truck, so I called in ask some questions and ordered the dash mount. A few days later the mount showed up in the mail. Well darn it, it don't fit, the guy on the phone said it would work. So got on the phone and talk to a rep told him the problem, He said that's no problem, I will send a new mount out right away. Well a few days later it shows up, and to my surprise its just not the dash mount but the whole think mount for GPS as well as the attachment for the Dash. I was really Surprised, and very pleased. So definitely encourages me to do business again. Cheers
Don, I had an issue with my Raymarine Depth Transducer. They sent out a replacement very promptly and their tech support (phone) was exceptional (I deal with a lot of tech supporters in my work!) I would (I am) use Raymarine equipment in the future.
I have no problem with Raymarine's customer service, only with one of their products. My autopilot is averaging a repair every other year from an admitted design flaw. The first time it failed, they fixed it for free. This last time, I was charged $200.00. When it fails again, its going over the side. I should of bought a Simrad.

I saw your post about the GPS and noticed you asked me where I keep my C25 last year. I live in Seabrook and the boat is currently at Watergare Marina. Do you ever take your boat out into the gulf? I really want to try it out this summer. Plannign to sail down to Galveston one day, stay on the boat overnight then hit the gulf the next day.
I have been using a ST-2000 Plus autopilot for almost ten years. My only criticisms, and I consider them minor ones, are the lack of limit switches (discussed here in several previous threads), and corrosion in the deck connector, caused entirely by me mounting it in a very exposed location and consistantly forgetting to reinstall the weather cover.
FYI reply messages fail when sending to your registered Mail address it fails.
If you need help or want someone along for the ride let me know I'll sail with you. I looked at buying a slip at the wharf, but after taking a few test runs back and forth to the bay decided against it.
I try to go sailing 3 days a week, it was about 45 minutes to the bay from the Wharf, and when the when the wind was out of the north there wasn't enough water in the channel. I am getting a pretty good deal at watergate 100/month this includeds use of all the facilities and is 15 minutes from the bay. Colby has his C25 La Fawnduh there too.
