Hi All, I found one of these locally, still in the wrapping, for $200.00 but don't know anything about them. Anyone use them? Good or Bad experiences? Cheers.
It seems a little steep for just a gps unit. If you are buying one to use charts, get a color unit. I have been using an Eagle combo gps/sounder for the past year. It is awesome.
I bought a new Garmin 172C chartplotter on ebay for $325.00 and a data card for Lake Michigan for $95.00. Its has some really great features like a man overboard button (mob) which marks the location you need to get back to in an emergency. It also has a distress button that ties into a dsc vhf radio that will transmit your coordiates during an emergency over your vhf channel. It also has an optional transducer which is a fishfinder/depthmeter. I plan to remove my origonal depth finder next year and install the transducer. I'll find that on ebay as well.
