Any one using XM Weather on the Great Lakes with a Garmin or other plotter. Is it practical and how well does it work?

For fifty bucks a month for service it should make the wind blow whenever you want it. And rain on your yard too.

Monthly prices are $10, $30 or $50 depending on the type and number of weather services you want.

I use an XM receiver in my vehical and tune into the local weather and traffic. I have found that the weather is ok at best and the traffic is never correct.
For what it is worth.

Wish they had a sailing channel

Dave,

Just as - This weather is on a much larger scale and more along the lines of a weather fax of VHF type weather. What you are talking about doesn't even come close and not comparible. (not to mention that XM doesn't even cover this area in the traffic and weather department)
