Cate, Gel coat should be no problem. If you try to remove caulk from your windows, however, the answer may depend on whether they are glass or not (Lexan, etc.). If glass, no problem. If not, I would cautiously test a small amount of solvent ("goof off" or "oops") in an unobtrusive area before proceeding to ambitiously. To remove sealant such as 3M's 101 before it has cured, rubbing alcohol and a little elbow grease makes a good start. Life Caulk also markets a product called "Release" that works great but is distributed only in 1 oz. containers. Alternatively, let the caulking cure and simply rub/scrape it off using your fingers, plastic putty knife, or (carefully) a razor blade.
