I'll be finishing the deal this coming Wednesday with the mast going in that evening and the diesel survey and sea trial on Thursday. The first survey went remarkable well. Part of the deal has the prior owner finishing up a lot of little work, so the cabin isn't "presentable" right now, but here are a few pics of the exterior. Hopefully I don't jinx myself with this post.

I found the original brochure online. quite interesting - not sure that type of sales pamphlet would cut it in todays day and age. Then again, you don't get 100 % glass decks anymore either.
We actually have a guy at our club that has performed 3 renaming ceremonies in the past three years. This year he had a number of requests and it has become his past-time.
Much like a wedding we are selecting the food and wine to be served along with the selections from numerous renaming texts. Ships bell remains with old name!!
John Vigor's method is winning out over the virgin peeing on the bow though. We have an interesting scenario that hasn't been touched upon in that we aren't renaming the boat completely until this fall - I believe our race entry says Champagne and Roses DBA Champipple.
We still have to check the ancient texts to see how this needs to be handled
Negative - Ships bell and the Ships Wheel if engraved REMAIN. The only other thing that remains is the logbook. All other references are removed.
I'll see if I can find it, but this is one of the few things Vigor does neglects to mention. I will try and dig this up today or tomorrow - I really don't remember what the reasoning was for those two items.
Just sistership stuff right now. Most of the interior survey pics were super close up (5 inches or less) of things. There were about 4 projects taking place prior to taking ownership. One project is still left which has all of the cushions and sails in the forepeak with the head door closed to the main saloon to keep the dust contained. Once that is done we will clean up and there will be some pics taken.
Here is the sistership cabin - it is virually identical from as best I can tell. You won't like it since the table is on starboard.
That is a real beauti Duane. Five feet makes sooo much difference in interior space as well as the feel of the bout cutting through the waves instead of being stopped by them. Cheers. p.s., I am becoming more accepting of starboard dinettes now that I have one. Cheers.
Well yes...sort of. I don't feel like that is anyone elses boat buy mine. I miss it already. Just an aside, I might be the proud owner of a wooden 36 footer by the end of next week. It might be a deal I can't pass up. Stay tuned. Cheers.

I think La Tina Caliente left for Toledo as she was gone from the marina on Saturday. Only thing remaining were a couple of Ohio plated cars.
Hopefully, the boat and the new owners made it safely to their new port, but they sure are taking a risk leaving their Ohio plated cars in Michigan unattended.
