I am upgrading to the balanced rudder, if anyone needs a stock rudder, mine is in OK shape (off my 89 SR/WK), it's the whole thing, tiller, pintles, included. tiller needs refinishing, rudder itself is sanded awaiting bottom coat. I am ready to give it the RED VC17M extra if someone wants that, otherwise it is sound, Don't need much for it, just a good home. SHipping could be pricey, I live in zip code 81621...

Normally Dave and I would not make non supportive comments in the swap meet but we both believe that the last series of Catalina 25 came with a balanced rudder, we are only bringing this up in light of the moderate post numbers for both of you. I hope the transaction is exactly what both of you intend.

Eikes, It is a balenced rudder, I am embarrassed to say I had not lookedat he planform differences. I just got the baot last fall and have been deep into restoration. I did not fully understand what I was looking at.. THANKS GUYS, I could never get through this without this site.

No, I cleaned it up, painted it and used it... it was a balanced rudder to begin with, I never looked at it before posting it for sale, I had incorrectly assumed the balanced rudder was strictly an after-market item. Lo and behold, my boat had come from the factory with one it was just a mess (barnicles etc.)
