On Long Island Sound, they call it "Variable 5-10", meaning your mainsheet tackle is squawking, then it's on port, then suddenly it's on starboard (and the jib is backwinded), and then it's squawking again.
Well, we found some wind tonight. Unfortunately, the wind indicator failed but we were moving at 4 knots for a while with main and 110. Good time even though I had to turn to the admiral and ask "What's that beep?" Fortunately, we realized it was the depth warning before we hit the sand.
