I've got a free day in Arlington, Washington this coming Saturday from early morning until about 4PM. I'd like to do some sailing if I can figure out how to make it happen. I could go to Shilshole, Everett, or Cap Sante, whereever, they are all sortof the same distance from Arlington.
If anyone out there is looking for crew that day, I'd love to join you. I'd charter from Everett or Cap Sante if I could find crew to go, but right now I don't really have anyone that might be available.
If anyone has any suggestions on how I can get my Puget Sound fix, I would really appreciate it.
Hey, that sounds good! On Sunday, I could either go in the morning and be back on the dock around 1, or, if you don't mind two of us (myself and my friend Scott who is a Capri 22 sailor visiting here from Iowa), we could be available after about 2PM for the rest of the afternoon. The break is because Scott speaks in the morning at the Arlington airshow, so I am on my own in the morning, and then would like to meet up with him after. His talk ends at noon, but he always seems to be talking to people afterwards, so meeting you at 2PM would be safe.
If one of those two times would work, I'll bring the refreshments!
Kevin, That sounds like a plan. We want to launch around 8-9am on the outgoing tide (-2.7 @ 1204pm). We'd like to meet you at our new marina, leave your car there & head over to the Alki launch to rig & launch. Take the boat out for a sail for a few hours to test out our new reefing rig & hard-link and just to have fun. Then we'd head upriver on the flooding tide to get the boat into it's new slip (downriver approach which is why I want to do it on a flooding tide the first time). Have you give us a lift back to the launch (only about 4-5 miles away) so we can pick up our truck & trailer, then you'd be off. Arlington is about 50 miles away, so we might want to push your schedule up a bit to 12:30 or so at the dock.
I'll shoot you an email later this evening with phone numbers, etc. so we can sort out the details. I've got school all day staring in about 15 minutes (same on Fri-Sat).
See you on Sunday!
If you feel like making the trip back down again with your friend, we could pretty easily be talked into another sail in the afternoon.
GREAT! Hey, I just found out Scott can't leave the show until 3:30 anyway, so he will miss out, but we will have more time, whatever you are up for, as long I can get back to Arlington by 4:30 or so.
Thanks! Please email me at kevin@catapult.biz and we can work out the details.
