Anyone have experience with the Pelican Scorpio 10'3" fibreglass dinghy? Similar to the Watertender 9.4 but with a drain. They both go for around 600 at Boaters World. I'm thinking of selling my '05 Watertender and pop for a new Pelican. Good move, or...?

Frank, I thought you were thinking about a Catalina 30. You sound like you have the urge to buy a boat. Stay away from stinkpotters!!

I believe that the pelican is not fiberglass by ramX which is what coleman uses to produce their canoes. I have one with a 4hp 'rude to get around in. Good size and value for the money.

Frank, Never heard of them but since you are in the mood to buy, why not head over the the Newport Boat Show. There are 350 boats, 5 are probably sail! I went yesterday and they have some great deals. Crowds were about half from last year.

I don't have one of these boats but I do have a Canoe made of RamX. I bought it for use it on rivers with lots of rocks.
It is very rugged stuff. The outside of my canoe (now about 15 years old) is scarred and pretty rough looking while the inside looks pristine. I can vouch that the material is very good.
