Sailing instructions are up today for the race Friday October 5 - 6, Mexican race on Sunday Oct. 7 and homecoming on Monday Oct. 8. I would like to enter PHRF 5, spinnaker, double handed division. US citizens do not need a passport. Non-US citizens need a passport. I will pay all fees, including dockage at Marina Coral. I will take care of all check-in, check-out of Mexico and clearance back into the US. We will do the race around Todos Santos with the Mexican Yacht club on Sunday, return on Monday. My yacht is in top shape. It is 62 miles one way. If there is no wind we will motor down for the party.

A reasonable expectation is to leave Mission Bay 9 AM Friday, start the race around noon and finish around 3 AM Saturday. Sleep, party, swim. Do the race Mexican race Sunday, they host a barbeque at the Coral. Leave Monday about 5 AM and be home by 5 PM.

I would like you to practice with me beforehand so we can set, gybe, and douse the spinnaker like a team.

Anyone interested?

Crew found! Joe (Sloop Smitten) and I will be going for it in the PHRF 5 Double Handed Division. There is a trophy for the last PHRF boat in on elapsed time (elapsed, not corrected). I think we have a serious shot at that!

I really want to bring back some tin this time, plus some Mexican tin from the Around the Todos Santos race.

Stay tuned.

If you are interested, here is a link to the SIs.

By the way, I should hit 1000 miles sailed since Daylight Savings time started sometime next week. It will be about 250 hours, and an average speed of about 4.1 knots.

And here you thought <i>"press-ganging"</i> was ancient history.
