I just got my Bluechart 9.5 update CD and updated from 6.5 to 9.5. It turns out I don't seem to be able to transfer my unlock code from 6.5 to 9.5. I wrote to Garmin support and they said I need to buy a new unlock code for 9.5 ($75). I am just trying to make sure I am not missing any step that would allow the unlock code to be transferred. Has anybody updated recently? And if you have, is 9.5 really improved over 6.5?

That's how they do it.
That sounds right. You can do it all on line. Make sure to save all your existing codes and cd. When I had to reload I had to start with my original CD and install it then I could install the upgrade.
well, don't have to like it . Dirty trick, getting my hopes up.<blockquote id="quote"><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"><i>Originally posted by Dave Bristle</i> <br />Correct. The updated data is not free--just the CD it comes on. <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">
