Well, its done, I made the order for my Catalina 42. I got word today that she will be delevered in mid Oct. She is supposed to leave Ca on 15 Oct, thats the projected date. So will be looking for it sometime after that. Then all the big work starts painting bottom putting mast up and getting her in the water. I will post pics and more details as I get them. Bear
Wow--that's quick--I didn't know Catalina had 42s on the shelf! Very exciting! I went aboard a 2-cabin pullman version at the Norwalk Boat Show--quite a yacht! Loved that forepeak head! What are your sailing waters?
Very nice, definitely post pictures! I'll probably check one out next weekend at the Annapolis Sailboat Show. The forepeak heads are a lot of fun to use while offshore! The Hunter I helped deliver down the east coast had one and while offshore. When you use the head, you don't see anything outside, but you feel the rise and free fall on the waves.
For know I will keep her at Green Turtle Bay on Lake Barley and Sail on Kentucky Lake, when I retire will head down to Mobile bay via the Tom big bee, or up to the Great Lakes...but for know will be in the lake....Hull number is 998, The one I got was one that was being built for a few months and was about to be shipped to a dealer for a stock boat. So the gave it to me. I will be at the Annapolis show on Thursday and Friday...my dealer got me tickets... so will have lots of fun....and will check out the new C42 while I am there to wet my appetite even more. Cheers
I'll bet the one in Annapolis is one I saw in Norwalk--they generally move from Newport to Norwalk to Annapolis. There will probably be a Morgan next to it... Two hulls from #1000--you just missed the celebration!
Oscar, Thanks very much, sorry to hear your selling yours, but nice to know you will still be around for good advice. I will be sure to keep you posted as to my progress. Thanks again. Barry
OK update on my 42, its supposed to be on the trailer and leaving thursday for Ky, so thats there story and I hope they stick to it. will post pics and more updates as they become avail. Barry aka Bear

I bet you do! My second ship was the Aircraft Carrier HMS Bulwark, my bunk was about 12' away from the rounddown no the front of the flight deck which was a bunk away from my bunk. We went through a storm off South Africa and the bow was coming out of the water so there was air under the keel up front, then the bow would bury itself in another wave with grey stuff over the flight deck.. That's like taking a bumpy elevator ride of about 15 stories every 30 seconds or so... and people wondered why I got sea sick
Looking forward to seeing the arrival pics. I too am amazed how quickly it was ready for delivery, our C250 took from March till June. Did you order any 'specials/customizations'?

I will keep all posted. Barry
LOL, yes I didnt metion the foulwheather gear that I boat, in preperation for this winter, I do intend to sail until I can stand it any more. and I can stand alot, so I might make it all of January and have to miss Feb, but I think I will still go just to run the motor and spend the weekends Good News, the fires are undercontrol, and they can let the truck leave with my boat. yeepee.... catchyall later Bear
