Does anybody know the distance from the (fixed) gooseneck to the bottom of the opening in the mast slot? (89 Tall Rig)

I forgot to take that measurement last weekend when I was at the boat last weekend. I have the sail at the local loft to add a second set of reef points and am considering taking some sail off the bottom to raise the boom while I am at it. I know some people have done this. How did you like the results?
