Vessel located in Portland, Oregon. Pictures on Yachtworld soon. Selling because I got an opportunity to buy a bigger boat that I have always liked, and the only one on the west coast, so I bought it, and need to reduce my boat count before my wife notices.
Asking $34,500 flexible. New boat with same equipment in same city (Portland, OR) would be $45,000 today.
Contact broker, Roger Londberg, River City Sailing (Portland Catalina dealer) at roger@rivercitysailing.com or 503-740-6160. Or call me, Kevin Mackenzie, at 503-310-0285 (cell) if you prefer. I get to pay the commission either way ;-). You can email me at kevin@catapult.biz.
You can also repond with questions here, I will check back when I can, but will be traveling a great deal over the rest of December and January (on the new boat), and will not be able to get messages or email very often, nor check here. Thus the broker might be your best bet if I don't reply soon.
I am really sad to see her go. We were taking our stuff out of her this weekend, and it reminded me of all the good times she has given me. Heck, my dog and I lived aboard her for 4 months a bit over a year ago (thus the comfortable mattress). Catalina builds great boats...
It's the pretty boat in the middle here next to my blue Capri 25 on the left and a C25 on the right. I'm sure some better pictures are coming, but it is a very nice boat.
It is a toe rail. My wife is 4' 11" and when the boat heels, she would slide onto the cockpit floor before her fee would touch the opposite side. It actually has been a very popular addition with folks sailing the boat.
New boat is in Crescent City now. Working up the coast. In port for weather at least until Sunday... I am back home.
Toe Rails in the cockpit are very very common on racing boats with larger open cockpits and ones where the cockpit doesn't have a back to the seat. Great Idea to have one on a 250 imho.
Just coming up for air after one of the most intense six month periods in my life. Sailing the new cat up the coast, doing the refit (more extensive than I planned, ever heard that before?), and sorting out/aquiring all the equipment needed to put her in charter was VASTLY more work that I ever imagined. Was also a lot of fun for the most part.
Poor Dogs Allowed has been neglected for most of this time, but no more. The cat is chartered nearly every week for the rest of the summer, if I want to sail (and I do), it will be in my 250. Will be fun to sail her again after all the "big boat" sailing.
One thing I learned with the big boat - I REALLY like autopilots. Having "George" steer the boat while I put up the sails, or take them down, or reef, or whatever, is really great. I think I will install one on Dogs, even though I will never get the money back.
I just killed the listing withe broker, which reduces the price to $29,000 now. I will get my own pictures up soon, the link about does not work any more.
