Martha and I flew to San Jose, Ca for Christmas for 10 days visiting relatives and stayed with an old friend of Marthas who she has known for over 50 years, back in the days when she worked for Locheed and Marina work for Union Pacific railroad.

I took my son and grand kids to Jack London Square in Oakland to ketch the ferry to San Francisco and while we were standing, waiting for the ferry, this young teenage girl was telling her girl friends all about Jack London Square....then she said Jack London was the author of a famous book and could not remember the name....so I turned around and jokingly said "Sound of Music" ...the girls continued to enthusiastically chatter "That's it"...."Ya, they made a movie about it"..."I saw it..Julie Andrews was in it"...etc,etc.


The weather that day was...



Cargo ship Lurline, IMO 7321087, loaded and headed for Honolulu, Hi



More improvements to Jack London Square.



New Bay Bridge under construction.



The Famous Treasure Island.



Coit Tower on Telegraph Hill in San Francisco.



Leaving the Ferry Bldg and going to Pier 41....28 knots.



Son and Granddaughter waving at Stu Jackson in sailboat.




Downtown San Francisco skyline.



Not sure of Mfg of sailboat or size....Boy was it cold.




Ah yes and the Seals at Pier 39.
